Jesus in Five supports Fe y Alegría — a Christian movement of popular education born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1955, that today keeps school doors open for hundreds of thousands of children in some of the most vulnerable communities in Latin America.

In June 2026, two powerful earthquakes struck north-central Venezuela. Nineteen Fe y Alegría schools were damaged. In Caraballeda, the Simón Bolívar school lost its rear wall and its water system — and became a shelter for families and teachers who lost their homes. Right now, Fe y Alegría is working to keep its schools standing: repairing classrooms, restoring water and power, and walking alongside students, teachers, and families as they rebuild.

We give to Fe y Alegría because this is personal. Faith, for us, is something you do — five minutes at a time, one hand extended at a time. A school that stays open after an earthquake is faith in action. We can't think of a better place for your journal's story to continue.
